Starting in December 2026 Universal Credit payments will rise by more than the inflation rate each year through 2029. The first increase will be at least 2.3 per cent which is higher than the previous adjustment. There is an important change to be aware of though. The health-related component of Universal Credit is being reduced for new claimants. This payment will drop from £105 per month to just £50 per month.
